Most recently, September 2020 to January 2023, Merry Player bought a shop in his home town of Ryde. This has now been set up, and is trading commercially. He is now looking forward to his next challenge.
September 2015 - September 2020, Merry was Global Head of Software Development for SAI Global - Information Specialists.
Working remotely with global teams he transformed the data warehouses from depositories to customer and marketing tools.
He also took the metadata and securely moved it from local to remote to cloud based servers.

With a background as developer, analyst, team leader, IT Manager, Merry Player found his niche as Software Development Manager 25 years ago.
A leader of development teams, he is the bridge between requirement and delivered solution.
Experienced within Central Government (Software delivery of Europe's largest MI/BI Oracle system) for Dept of Digital Culture and Sport via RCUK.
Many of his references attest to motivating and mentoring his teams to enhance both the members and their delivery.

Merry Player was part of the original design and test team while working as Head of (Software) Development for Civica on the UK Government GDS Service Standard.
His data designs and content were accepted. This was based on his experiences while working as Data Specialist for NHS systems through MDIS.
Awarded and made a Fellow of the Institution of Analysts and Developers,
Awarded and made the first Certified Software Specialist in the UK by CSS, Merry Player is classed as a Software Development and Data design expert.
Sometimes he is still hands on.
Thanks to his innovative system and data warehouse/database designs and his teams creation of the European CARES system the first UK barcoded parcel tracking system, he was awared a 12 month hm government sponsored, condensed MBA place at Omnia college, Oxford. Passed with 100% Dist' in IT.
He has been working and leading remotely for the last 6 years.
For the last 25 years, he has led his teams across all continents, as well as locally.
An exponent of Agile and DevOps, Merry Player promotes their values and benefits. An expert on System Design, he prototypes to ensure that the development will yield the correct solution.
A Strong communicator and collaborator, he has spoken on Software Development, and Databases at European trade shows,
and is comfortable within Central, Local government and the corporate boardroom.
